Loopcast.io Internal traffic

Keep your own visits out of the analytics

This switch marks this browser as internal. While it is on, loopcast.io loads no analytics at all here: not Google Analytics, not the Reddit pixel, not anything else in the tag manager. So nothing you do on the site lands in the reports.

The setting lives in this browser on this device, so it does not follow you to another browser, another machine, or a private window. Visit this page from each one. Clearing site data undoes it, so come back here and switch it on again.

This connection

216.73.217.127

This address is not on the server-side internal list, so only the browsers you switch on by hand are excluded. To cover every browser and device on this connection at once, run loopcast-internal-ip add 216.73.217.127 on the server, or the wider range, if this address changes on you.

Add this IP to Google Analytics (one-time, 2 minutes)
  1. GA4 → Admin → Data collection and modification → Data streams → the loopcast.io stream.
  2. Configure tag settings → Show all → Define internal traffic → Create.
  3. Rule name anything, traffic_type value internal, match type IP address equals, value 216.73.217.127. Save.
  4. Back in Admin → Data collection and modification → Data filters, open Internal Traffic and set it to Active. It ships as Testing, which tags the hits but still counts them.

Google's Admin API does not expose internal traffic definitions or data filters, so this step has no scripted equivalent: it is the console or nothing.

What the switch turns off

Not covered: web server access logs, and conversions our own server reports for a real payment. Neither feeds the analytics reports.

Excluding this browser also opts it out of Google Ads sharing for a year (lc_ads_optout=1): Google's advertising cookies already in this browser are deleted and stay off, and an account created in this browser never keeps the ad click it came from. Starting to count again does not undo that; clear your cookies for loopcast.io if you want it back.
